Screen Acting Classes
Classes held THURSDAYS
10-18 yrs (Range of class levels)
Screen acting focuses on subtle, natural performances, as the camera captures close-ups and smaller details. The class explores on on-camera performance techniques, developing students develop confidence and skill in front of the lens.
Through practical exercises, scene study, and recorded work, students learn about framing, eye lines, and naturalistic performance for film and television.
This course builds truthful, authentic screen performance by exploring Meisner-inspired responsiveness and other screen acting techniques while also preparing students for the Trinity Acting for Screen exam. Students build key on-camera skills through performance tasks such as speaking naturally to camera, performing short monologues and scenes, reacting without words, and reviewing their recorded work to improve confidence and performance.
Graduates gain confidence, technical proficiency and reflective practice which is essential for professional screen acting, auditions and self-taping. The Trinity exam is held at the end of Term 3. The course runs from Term 1 - 3. It is essential to be there for all of the 3 terms to be prepared for the examination and class work.
